Also known as Pioneted Broom Sedge or Lance-Fruited Oval Sedge, Broom Sedge is a cool-season clumping sedge. Growing best on sites with full sunlight and moist soil, Broom Sedge prefers wet, sandy and mucky soils such as in marshes, floodplains, wet pastures, and ditches.
This sedge also provides nesting and food for a variety of wildlife species such as waterfowl, songbirds, small rodents and turtles.
