Bearded Beggarticks, also known as Bur Marigold or Tickseed Sunflower, is an annual that forms a tap root. Blooming in late summer, this annual produces multiple yellow flower heads. It grows best in full sun, but can also do well in partial shade. It can survice most soil types, except sandy soils and is usally found is wet, marshy areas, ditches, and meadows with moist soil.

Seeds should be planted in late August through October, as they require cool, moist conditions over the winter months. In the spring the seeds will germinate best if they have been planted in a clear or closely mowed area.
