About Russian Wildrye

Russian Wildrye is a large, long-lived cool-season bunch grass used in open prairie seedings for pasture. It has an extensive root system that makes it very competitive against weeds as well as very drought and cold tolerant. It grows best in fertile, well-drained loam to clay soils. It makes excellent dryland pasture with high digestibility and a long season of productivity.
