Orchardgrass is a perennial cool season bunch grass that tolerates a wide range of soil and climatic conditions and has been utilized in most areas of the United States. It is shade tolerant, making it popular for use in orchards.
Uses include:
- In mixes for grazing
- In orchards as ground cover
- Erosion Control
If left to seed, plant becomes course and unpalatable. Best if spring seeded, but can be late-summer seeded.
