Bison Buffalograss

Buchloe dactyloides
Drought-tolerant, Winter Hardy

About Bison Buffalograss

Bison, although a forage-type buffalograss, offers improved turf qualities over Texoka. It is very winter hardy and extremely drought tolerant. Its darker green color, upright leaf growth, and fine texture make it suitable for most common turf uses. It can also be used for erosion control on industrial or other disturbed sites. Like all Buffalograsses, it requires less watering, fertilizing, and mowing than most turf grasses. Bison is not recommended for shady areas or elevations above 5000 ft.
