About Crownvetch
Non-native perennial legume with creeping stems 2 - 6 ft. long with pink flowers. Develops a heavy, multi-branched creeping root system. Excellent for erosion control on steep banks, but will choke out grasses. Should be planted with nurse crop, such as annual rye grass (20 - 30 lbs./A). Takes two years to establish completely. Seed in spring. Perennial.
