About Prairie Aster

Prairie Aster is also called Tansy Aster or Tahoka Daisy.  It not an aster at all, but blooms strongly resemble asters.  This annual prefers full sun but tolerates partial sun.  Sandy to loamy soil is preferred in well drained areas.  Water requirements are moderate and primarily just before and during blooming as it is rather drought tolerant. They are very attractive to numerous bees and butterflies.  Flowers make great cut flowers. Cut the flower early after blooming and leave stems long.
