About Heath Aster

The smallest flowered, hardiest, and probably the most common of the native asters. Abundant flower heads on upper branches usually with white petals and yellow centers. Excellent for cutting flowers. Makes a good addition to perennial borders for late season color. Attractive to bees and butterflies. Slender stems that branch to form bushy plants, densely leafy.  Linear leaves less than two inches long.  Best in full sun.
