About Crested Wheatgrass

Crested Wheatgrass is a cool-season, long-lived perennial bunchgrass. It is adapted to a wide range of sites but is most productive on well-drained, medium-textured soils. It is very drought tolerant. Crested Wheatgrass has a good palatability rating for livestock when green. It has been introduced extensively in the West because of its ability to do well in somewhat coarse or medium soils and its ability to withstand drought.
